Yogurt Parfait

When mornings are tough, my go-to breakfast is a yogurt parfait! This recipe is simple, fun, and customizable. Not to mention, yogurt is packed with protein and will help your morning start off on an energetic note and leave you satisfied. Add your favorite healthy toppings — focusing on ones most beneficial to you! Nutritious topping options could include flax and chia seeds, which are high in fiber and omega-3 fats; fresh fruit (especially berries) which are low in calories and packed with antioxidants, vitamins, and fiber; and nuts such as almonds, which contains omega-3 fats and antioxidants! Health tip: Try adding a sprinkle of cinnamon, a blood glucose stabilizer! Get creative!

Ingredients

  • Almond or other plain dairy-free yogurt
  • Gluten-free granola
  • Fruit (fresh, dried, or pureed)
  • Nuts
  • Honey
  • Cinnamon
  • Seeds of choice

Directions

  1. Dish yogurt into bowl.
  2. Top with choice of fruit, nuts, and granola.
  3. Drizzle with honey.
  4. Sprinkle cinnamon.
